Adjustable Air Amplifier
Product Overview
-
The adjustable air amplifier from Nex Flow™ is used for a variety of applications. It is available in coated aluminum or stainless steel for high temperature or corrosive environments.
It is easy to install and maintain. Compressed air consumption and noise levels are reduced. The adjustable air amplifier draws energy from a small volume of compressed air to produce high velocity and volume as well as low-pressure output airflow.
The adjustable air amplifier is quiet, efficient and can intensify flows up to 17 times compared to the input of air consumption rates.
Air Booster and Air Pressure Amplifiers:
An Air Amplifier is also called an Air Booster. It converts pressure to flow and considered flow amplifier and not an air pressure amplifier.
Dust Collection System and Vent Smoke and Fumes:
The air amplifier is used as a dust collection system. It can vent smoke and fumes from all types of equipment.
Dry Air Coolers:
Air amplifiers can be used as dry air coolers by blowing amplified airflow into tubes of hot gas and air for cooling systems.
Part Ejection System and Chip Removal System and Part Drying System:
The air jets and nozzles are excellent as part of the ejection system, chip removal system, and part drying system when air knives or air amplifiers are not perfect.
How They Work
A large volume of surrounding air is induced into the amplifier at point (A) by the action of a small amount of compressed air which enters the annular chamber at point (B) that is then throttled through a small ring nozzle at high velocity and into the inside of the amplifier over a coanda profile. The compressed air stream clings to the coanda profile as it enters the inside walls of the amplifier creating a vacuum that induces the outside air converting the pressure into amplified airflow. The amplified airflow leaves at the exit at point (C). Airflow is further amplified downstream at point (D) by entraining additional air from the surroundings at the exit.
Specifications
Constructed of anodized aluminum with three standard outlet (outside) diameters: 1-1/4" (31mm), 2" (51mm), 4" (200mm). Other sizes available upon request.
Come standard with a .002" (.05mm) gap. If greater air force is required, the gap is adjustable.

Applications
Replaces fans used for blow-off, cleaning, drying, cooling and conveying.
Automotive:
- Remove water, coolant, dust, and scrap in parts manufacturing/assembly operations.
- Cool enamel and water based paints in parts manufacturing, auto body shops or assembly lines.
Bottling:
- Blow off of water from the tops of cans, bottles prior to labeling, ink jetting, palletizing or packaging.
- Conveying light materials.
Chemicals:
- Blow off of chemicals or water prior to labeling or packaging.
Food:
- Remove water from product or packaging.
General Manufacturing:
- Part ejection, fume removal, dust and liquid blow off from all types of parts, conveying away waste. Replaces fans in some cooling operations such as tempering glass.
Metals:
- Coolant and other liquid removal on process lines from aluminum, steel, brass or other materials.
- Drying metals prior to other operations such as plating or polishing.
- Cooling metal parts prior to coating or painting. Coolant mist removal.
- Boost vacuum systems to remove grinding dust. Cool steel forgings.
Paper & Lumber:
- Sawdust removal and control by boosting the vacuum system, dust removal.
- Trim removal in converting applications.
Plastic:
- Dust and scrap blow off.
- Cool moldings after extrusion, then blow off and dry prior to forming.
Printing:
- Cooling to set some inks, scrap blow off.
Pharmaceutical:
- Remove liquid prior to labeling or packaging waste removal for solid materials.
- Extract unfilled capsules by vacuum as they pass on a conveyor.
Textile:
- Scrap and trim removal on textiles to eliminate expensive vacuum systems.

Adjustable Air Amplifier Ducting:
Both the inlet (vacuum intake) and discharge ends may be ducted for light material and fume conveying applications. Care must be taken to avoid unnecessary restrictions that will cause back pressure or suction resistance that will reduce performance levels. Keep back pressure and resistance to under 2" of water column.
