Conveyor Cleaning

A standard Air-Blade™ Air Knife Model 10030 was used with a .004" stainless steel shim gap to clean a conveyor at a metal processing facility to remove small scrap buildup. Previously scrapers and brushes were used but created costly maintenance problems. The downtime was decreased and the application essentially maintenance free. Noise was not a major factor so the heavy-duty designed standard Air Blade air knife was adequate for the application. The unit was easy to mount because of mounting holes on the air knife unlike competitive models that may require dismantling and reassembly.

Cooling Off Hot Spots in a Refinery

A 2" Model 40002S Stainless Steel Adjustable Air Amplifier cools off hot spots at a refinery unit to prevent unscheduled downtime to repair heat insulation which has fallen away. Unscheduled downtime would be extremely costly. Space was also at a premium and the air amplifiers worked exceedingly well.

Metal Rod Conveying

A 2" Ring-Vac™ Air Conveyor Model 30004 is used to convey a 4" metal rod from one end of the plant to another reducing handling time dramatically. The rod falls onto a gravity feed slot which feeds the rod into the Ring-Vac. Air is conserved by turning on only when there is a rod to feed. The rod is literally shot 15 feet up to the ceiling area in a plastic tube, where it is then gravity fed in the tube to the other end of the plant. There it is manually picked up for further processing at another machine station.

Panel Cooler on a CNC Machine

An electrical control panel on a CNC machine consistently overheated. They installed a model 61025 Frigid-X™ Panel Cooler control panel cooling system with continuous operation and connected the air supply into the operation of the machine so the cooler operated only when the machine was on. This installation reduced maintenance costs and downtime significantly.downtime

Adjustable Air Amplifier Removes Mist in Machining Operation

A Model 40001 Adjustable Air Amplifer or an AM 20 non-adjustable unit can remove oily mist from machining operations preventing the mist from escaping to surrounding areas. This simple solution eliminates any ned for electricity and the units small size makes it convenient to locate it inside the machine for optimum performance.

Adjustable Air Amplifier Removes Dust In Grinding Application

A Model 40002 Adjustable Air Amplifer or an AM 40 non-adjustable unit can add extra vacuum power to any existing vacuum system to improve the gathering of dust particles from grinding. Amplifiers can also be used alone to gather and remove fumes, mist, and light dust materials because of their ability to gather large volumes and convey them away.

High Temperature Vortex Tubes is a Standard

Vortex tubes are can be made of different materials – some companies make them in aluminum, some in stainless steel but almost all use plastic “generators” inside the units. But a vortex tube is used to “cool”. This means that they are used often in “high temperature environments”. So some companies actually charge “extra” to replace cheap plastic parts. Nex Flow goes the full course – all our vortex tubes are stainless steel, with metal generators and high temperature O-rings – no extra costs for high temperature applications.

For example, in Asia some competitive units which were special, extra-cost so-called high temperature vortex tubes that were used to cool a camera face, were replaced with “standard” lower cost Nex Flow™ vortex tubes because they required better cooling which Nex Flow™ was able to give.
