Product Overview

  • Air Wipe Blow-Off System - Ring-Blade™ from Nex Flow™ is easy to mount and maintain and reduces both compressed air consumption and noise levels.

    It produces a "laminar" flow of air along its 360º angle using the "Coanda" effect which "entrains" a large volume of air from the surrounding area along with the small amount of compressed air from the Ring-Blade™ air-saver wiper-blade to produce an output flow up to 30 times.

    Air Wipe Blow-Off System - Ring-Blade™ pay back on compressed air savings can be as soon as a few weeks in some applications when compared to nozzle "rings" or simple annular slots used by other air wiping system.

How They Work

 

Ring-Blade™ Air Wipe - Compressed air enters at point (A) into an annular chamber and throttled through a small ring nozzle at high velocity. This air stream clings to the coanda profile directing the air stream down toward the surface which is angled to create a “cone” style directed force to best clean, wipe and dry a surface The surrounding air is entrained at point (B) creating an amplified 360 degree conical airflow at point (C) to uniformly wipe the surface of the of the material running through the Ring Blade™. The wet or dirty material (D) direction of travel is against the flow.

Special diameters for the Air Wipe Blow-Off System - Ring-Blade™ are available on special request from Nex Flow™.

Air Wipe Blow-Off System - Ring-Blade™ comes with a standard .002" outlet gap which will work for 90% of all applications encountered.

If greater force is required, a second .002" (.05mm) shim may be installed to open the gap for greater flow. Materials of construction anodized aluminum.

 

Cost Effectiveness

Example Of An Air Saving Calculation

1. From the chart showing air flow through a hole, assume we have a circular tube that is 4" in diameter. It has a circumference of 3.14159 X diameter or 12.57 inches. Assume it has 1/16" holes spaced 1/2" apart with a total number of 24 holes. The air pressure in the system is 60 PSIG.

2. From the chart each 1/16" hole consumes 4.23 SCFM at 60 PSIG. Total air consumed is 24 X 4.23 = 101.52 SCFM.

3. From the compressed air consumption chart, a 4" diameter Ring-Blade™ consumes 49 SCFM at 60 PSIG.

4. Assuming a compressed air cost of 30 cents/1000 standard cubic feet and an 8 hour day operation for 200 days per year.

The Drilled Circular Tube Will Cost: 101.52 cu. Ft./min. X 60 min./hr. X $.30/1000 cu. Ft. X 200 days X 8 hrs/day = $2,923.78 a year!

5. The Nex FlowT System Will Cost: 49 cu. Ft./min. X 60 min./hr. X $ .30/1000 cu. Ft. X 200 days X 8 hrs/day = $1,411.20 a year!

6. The Savings per year using the Nex Flow™ System will be:

$2,923.78 - $1,411.20 = $1,512.58 per year!

All Ring-Blade™ Air Wipes are anodized aluminum construction with stainless steel shims and brass fittings. Standard units come with rubber hose connecting the twin peices. High temperature units come with stainless steel hose.
